  Professor Lucio Valerio Sarandrea is a prominent lecturer and researcher at the International and Business Law (IBL) Department of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA). His academic focus lies in the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human Rights, where he explores the legal and ethical challenges posed by rapidly advancing technologies.

 
AUCA Law Program students took part in Jake Lowther's guest lecture in October 2024. The lecture addressed the topic of international investment protection standards.  Jake Lowther refers to himself as a “civilized common law lawyer”, having first qualified in Australia and then in Sweden.

On October 18, at the invitation of the LIbrary, representatives from the State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) delivered a training session for AUCA students.

AUCA Law Program students will participate in the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot in October of 2024. The Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot is a premier international investment arbitration competition which will take place in person at the renowned Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and virtually.

 
 

On September 20th, AUCA hosted its Ambassador Talks series. This time, the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kyrgyzstan, Alexey Rogov, delivered an overview of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and its work in the region.

On September 24th, the American University of Central Asia hosted His Excellency Nicolas Faye, the newly appointed French Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic. This event marked his first public speech since assuming office just one month ago, giving students, faculty, and the AUCA community a unique opportunity to gain insight into his diplomatic journey and vision for the future.

From September 23 to 27, AUCA hosted a five-day guest lecture series by Professor Andrei Dörre from the Free University of Berlin. The Department of Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science organized a series of lectures with the Office of International Students.
