AUCA would like to provide students and university community with information about our professors. Professors are a critical resource within the University community, possessing a range of skills and knowledge which can contribute significantly to the quality of the institution in a variety of ways. Professors in AUCA provide leadership in their research discipline within a national and international context.

AUCA extends a very warm welcome to international students.  As an international student, you have the opportunity of a life time to attain well-rounded education that goes beyond the academic.  An international education imbues you with, amongst others, attributes of adaptability, flexibility, and cultural fluency: the soft skills so sought after by employers world-wide. 

From April 19 to May 1, 2017, AUCA Library hosted Ms. Anita Walz, Open Education, Copyright, and Scholarly Communication Librarian at Virginia Tech.  Ms. Walz came to AUCA under the Fulbright Specialist Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State. 

April 21 and 22, the program in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (EM&SD) sent professors Orozbaev and Asanov along with four students two Bard exchange students on a site tour at the Kumtor Mining Area in Issyk-Kul.

The Department of International and Comparative Politics organized crisis games for high school students from Bishkek. The theme of the game was the conflict in Syria.

Tinatin Osmonova, an Economics Master’s student at the American University of Central Asia. After graduating from the AUCA’s Economics Department last year, she decided to stay at her Alma Mater and do her best to continue being a good economist. In April 2017, she participated at the Sixth Annual Smolny International Student Conference where she presented her undergraduate thesis work.

The AUCA Chess Club was created to get people to play chess at the University. The Club encourages people of all levels of experience to play and offers a friendly, constructive, and social platform for chess enthusiasts. The Club sends also teams to the Universiada.

Central Asian Studies Institute (CASI) is pleased to report that the Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) prize committee have selected article by Dr. Mohira Suyarkulova as the winner of the Henry Huttenbach prize for the best article published in Nationalities Papers journal in 2016.

Today we want to introduce you to Kamilya Kadyrova, the NGA Academic Director , an Assistant Professor in General Education and FYS Program,  and AUCA Academic Orientation Co-Director.
