Diana Takutdinova, ANTH -108, American University of Central Asia (AUCA) alumni ambassador in Norway, tells us about her study and work at AUCA, about her career path after graduation, and her Master’s Programs in Norway.  

In partnership with the Estonian Institute of Human Rights and the University of Tartu, the Law Division of AUCA conducted a one-week intensive modular course entitled “Contemporary issues in International Humanitarian law”.

Vanessa Graf, originally from Austria, is an exchange student from Sciences Po University, at the Dijon campus in France. Currently Vanessa is studying International and Comparative Politics at AUCA. Vanessa shared her thoughts about life and studies in Kyrgyzstan.

Ruslan Rahimov, an AUCA faculty member, associate professor, and candidate of historical sciences with a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS - France), recently embarked on a research trip to Mexico.

On March 4th, 2016, AUCA President Andrew Wachtel received an Honorary Professorship from the Kyrgyz National University. Memorandum of cooperation between universities signed.

Associate Professor of Philosophy Duane Lacey currently teaches in the FYS Division. In the near future, he will also be teaching in the new L.L.M. Graduate Program. Professor Lacey shares his academic experience, research projects, thoughts on AUCA, and even some advice for students in this brief interview.

Cholpon Chotaeva, the Coordinator of the Anthropology and Sociology Departments and a professor of Anthropology at the AUCA, tells about her career path, work at AUCA, and about students of Anthropology department.

On December 15, 2015 AUCA Alumna Guzyal Hill held the lecture “How to Get a PhD in Australia” for AUCA students, faculty, and alumni. Hill is a lawyer and a PhD student researching the harmonization of federal legislation at Charles Darwin University, Darwin, Australia.

Nuriza Begalieva, a Senior in the European Studies department, spent an exchange semester this spring at Sciences Po, Reims, in France. There she studied the politics of France and the European Union while also improving her French.
