Elizabeth Alibaeva is the Program Director and an Assistant Professor in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program at the American University of Central Asia. She holds a Master’s degree in an Endorsement for Teaching Reading and Writing, All Grades (2008) and a Bachelor’s degree in a Professional Certificate for Teaching English, grades 8-12 (summa cum laude, 2004) from Asbury College (US).
Elizabeth joined AUCA in 2018 as a part-time faculty in the MAT Program prior to becoming a full-time Assistant Professor the following year.. Working as a secondary English teacher since 2004, Elizabeth has taught at public schools in the United States as well as at two schools internationally - one in Guatemala and one in Kyrgyzstan. She has also served in various roles in K-12 administration for the last seven years. In the MAT Program, she teaches practical courses such as Creating a Classroom Culture and Teaching Practicum, and she is working on developing teacher mentoring materials with the AUCA Institute of Education (IOE).
