Altynay Halmurzaeva is an Assistant Professor in the non-degree General Education Program at the American University of Central Asia. She earned a specialized degree with honors in English language from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical University (1996, Kyrgyzstan). She attended the First Year Seminar Workshop at Bard College (2023, USA), an OSUN Project-English as a Medium of Instruction at Arizona State University (2022-2023, USA), a Summer Pedagogy Workshop at Indiana University (2002, USA), and the CEU Summer University course “Gender, Nation & Identity: Cross-Cultural and Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives” (2000, Hungary).
Altynay joined AUCA in 1998 as an English language Instructor and taught TOEFL Preparation and intensive English Language courses. She is a certified Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) specialist, having earned her certification at the School for International Training in Vilnius (2001, Lithuania).
